Controller Assistant
County Farm Centre located in southeastern Ontario, offers products and services through its 4 divisions and 2 locations. An integral part of County Farm Centre is the administration department that supports these divisions.
County Farm Centre is looking for an individual with critical thinking and a problem solving skills with a post secondary education in accounting.
Reporting to the controller, the Controller Assistant will provide accounting support and assistance to Controller, Credit and Business Managers.
Working out of both the Picton and Belleville locations this position is Full-Time (35-40 hours per week) and may require some travel.
This posting is for a new position that is currently vacant.
Salary Range: $60,000.00-$70,000.00
Commensurable upon experience and credentials.
The Role
- Assist in AR/AP functions, as needed
- Prepare government remittances
- Assist with month end closing and preparing month end reports
- Assists the controller in preparing year end financials
- Assist in maintaining capital asset data
- Assist in preparing yearly budgets
- Establishing and maintaining general ledger account allocations
- Conduct various analysis with regards to financial statements
- Assist with payroll and associated reporting
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Post secondary Education in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting systems and experience with account-related areas (payables, receivables, billing systems, general ledger.
- Proven computer skills including spreadsheet, database and query tools, ability to use computer to enhance business processes.
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
