Reporting to the Energy manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for: Home Inspections, Tank set up and installations, Helping the CFC Group stay compliant with all legislation, working with contractors and any other general tasks need done by the Energy division.

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Current holder of a valid TSSA G2 Gas Technician License.
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma is required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract: a DZ would be an asset.
  • Liquid propane endorsement would be beneficial.
  • Sound technical knowledge of propane equipment and plant operations.
  • Good knowledge of the B149.1 and B149.2 code would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and be a flexible and dependable team player.
  • Personable and confident individual with good time management skills, who can work well under pressure in a variety of situations.
  • A strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn in a dynamic and ever-changing environment is necessary

The successful candidate must be willing to work in all kinds of weather conditions. Driving is also required. Some lifting and working in awkward positions are necessary. A self-directed and safety conscious attitude is a must.

Crop Specialist

Since 1994, County Farm Centre has been providing the Quinte Region with Crop services, Fuel/Home Heat Delivery, Livestock feed and Retail shopping. We are currently looking to add an experienced Crop Specialist to our Agronomy team to continue our legacy of serving the Quinte region. Our ideal candidate is a person who enjoys sales-related work and has a passion for going above and beyond for their customers while helping them achieve their goals and potential.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Agronomy Manager, the Crop Specialist sells and markets the following products and services to new and existing customers: crops inputs, such as fertilizer, crop protection pesticides, seed products, service income, technical services, and Ag-finance program.

Implementing marketing plans and developing sales strategies that generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.

Travels to client locations within assigned territory to establish County Farm Centre and the FS brand and obtain orders for products and services

Develops territory and competitive analysis to maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition.

Provides value-added agronomic products and services (such as soil testing, crop scouting and other programs) and recommendations to both prospective and current customers.

Schedules product delivery and application to patron locations.

Conducts regular customer meetings on product and technical information to develop customer relationships and drive sales.

REQUIREMENTS:

A friendly, positive, and outgoing demeanor with the ability to develop, foster and grow relationships with potential and existing clients.

Minimum of a High School Diploma with a proven sales history.

Minimum of 5-10 years experience as an Agronomist.

Proven organizational skills with the ability to work without close supervision and be proactive. under time pressure and meet deadlines during the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual account close cycles.

Willing and able to obtain and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the agronomy industry. (i.e., CCA, CCS, CPAg, a seller’s or solicitor’s license where required by law and Commercial Applicator w/applicable categories)

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.

Knowledge of various agronomy products, services, and programs.

Ability to operate computers with a working knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet programs.

May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Has a minimum of a Class G license with a clean driving record

Ability to be trained on various pieces of Lifting Devices (Forklift, Payloader, Skid steer, etc.).

Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.

Seasonal Driver (Tender Truck Driver)

Our agronomy division currently includes crop inputs, including seed, fertilizers and chemicals, custom application, and precision ag. Teamwork and collaboration are at the centre of everything we do here and now we are looking to add to our team to continue our legacy of serving the Quinte region.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

The Driver operates a single, tandem or 4 axle truck for delivery and/or pick-up of bulk fertilizer or bulk water to customer farms/fields, County Farm Centre Ltd. custom application equipment and other company branches, following specified time schedules An ideal candidate must be friendly, a Team player, have a great attention to detail, be efficient and have a great driving record.

1) Operates all assigned vehicles, single, tandem or 4 axle configurations, forklifts, etc. in accordance with established safety standards and proper vehicle operation techniques.  

2) Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes.  Follows the preventative maintenance program and maintains a clean truck to present a professional appearance. 

3) Loads and unloads bulk fertilizer safely on assigned truck.  When loading, ensures loads are secure/tarped, evenly balanced and distributed from the front of the truck to the back and from side to side, as well checks axle weights and loads them in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation regulations

4) Ensures that all deliveries and pickups are made in accordance with time schedules and performs duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service and professionalism within the company and the industry. Builds strong customer relations, reports customer comments and concerns, makes suggestions to improve service levels.

5) Ensures that all associated documentation, such as bills of lading, transfers and weigh tickets are completed accurately and returned to the branch location at the end of the day with the daily truck report to ensure timely receiving and payment of invoices.

REQUIREMENTS

1) a high school diploma, college diploma, or equivalent, or a combination of experience and training to provide the required knowledge and skills.

2) Must also possess a valid DZ driver’s license, a driving abstract that represents a history of safe operation, as well as the ability to maintain insurability.

3) Will be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.

4) Proven ability to work independently, and in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others.
