Your propane gas gauge is located under the dome at the top of your tank, reading it is easy! You’ll see bold black numbers (5-95) with a single pointer needle. The pointer will indicate a number that represents a percentage. If your tank has a gauge that ranges 0-300 that is pressure not percentage.

A propane tank is considered full at 80% (to allow for vapor expansion) and needs IMMEDIATE REFILLING if it reaches 20%. For your safety and protection, it is best to fill your tank BEFORE the gauge goes below 20%. The chart below shows how many gallons of propane you have in your tank at a given percentage.

It is important to periodically check your tank and have an open line of communication with your propane
specialist.

When gauge reads 80%, your tank is considered full. Check periodically until it is time to place a refill order.

When gauge reads 25%, you are due for a propane delivery to avoid running your tank empty.

Do not let your tank get this low. At this point, a leak test must be performed and out of gas and emergency fees may occur.
